Getting it wrong gets my vote too.... Only one that emphasises speed.. A very nice set of pictures though.

Voting likewise, All pictures look as if the lens focusses okay with carts coming at you. I use the same , DA55-300. I tend to go for slower shutter speeds to maybe emphasise the speed with a little motion bblurrr.
But everyone to his own.

Nothing wrong with these shots, but as an alternative I always think shots of cars look more dramatic when shot side on and panned so the car is pin sharp against a blurred background.
Maybe something to try next time?

Nice set of karting pics Steve, but like Karl says it would be nice to see a bit more background blur to emphasise the speed. I always find shooting at karting tracks very tricky as its very difficult to get a clean background and/or isolate the subject; the surroundings are often very cluttered and messy, and shooting from the necessary low level of the karts there always seems to be cones or marshals' legs in the way. Panning shots go a long way to solving that, but that can be trick due to the short straights. So I think you've done well there.
I like 'Getting it Wrong' but think it would benefit from being cropped into a 'letterbox' format to mask out the distracting pick-up and car park in the background.
