K7 settings urgent help required

Green button pre-sets on a K-7 body are;

• Program Line (AUTO)
• File Format JPEG
• JPEG Recorded Pixels 14M
• JPEG Quality ***
• Sensitivity AUTO
• Metering Method (Multi-segment Metering)
• AF Point (Auto)
• White Balance (Auto)
• Custom Image Bright
• Shake Reduction (On)
• Color Space sRGB

I would ideally like to have the JPEG quality as * (good)
and the JPEG Recorded Pixels as 2M

Is this possible and still keep the other functions as Automatic.
This is required for a continuing photo shoot tomorrow. I have read the manual, but cannot find any information about this.

Sorry for the lack of time but today all sorts of things did not work correctly and this is one of the area's that require attention.

Not all functions can be changed on green setting, so if it can't be changed it will be greyed out as an option. Program mode will enable more items to be adjusted.

K-7 green mode is more restrictive than previous models.
It doesn't look like what you want is possible. (just twiddled with K-7).
You might have to stick in P mode. All the things you want can be set.

If you have a big memory card, you could always do RAW+ and have a get out of jail free card if needed.

One possible issue, in low light, is that you will nearly always be hitting the widest aperture and hence softer images and high ISO hence higher noise (K-7!).

Can't you just put it in green mode and set the jpeg quality the normal way? Pressing the green button doesn't affect jpeg settings (or at least it doesn't on mine). Mind you I'm probably not understanding what you are trying to achieve

I think when CoDa says "green button" he means "green mode" on the dial. Most options locked down.

(BTW, IrfanView [free] has a batch resize process with different quality settings that is a doddle to set up and runs very quickly, if you do the shoot at full size then run the resize batch at the end, changing the size, and quality, you can also tweak sharpness etc)

As Dougf8 said its the "green mode" settings that I am try to adjust, I am going to look at the "P" settings to see if that is the best way to go.
