I actually thought that was one of the more useful (potential) features. Getting the camera in exactly the right spot on a tripod for 1:1 macros is a right pain and to be able to tweak it a little in camera would be helpful. I might just buy a focus rail instead though, it would be a little cheaper...

I doubt if any of these simple electronic levels are accurate. A standard spirit bubble level on the other hand is usually accurate to 0.5mm in 1m.

Accurate electronic levels can be made but need quite a bit of room for a mechanical plumb detector.

modern surveying Total Stations have very precise electronic levels, not sure how much physical space within the instrument they take up though as even a compact Total Station like the Leica TCR 307 or Pentax R300 is considerably larger than a K-7.
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help

They also have to be leveled up fairly accurately on a solid
tripod first, in which case the leveling pendulum probably fits
inside a small tube.

A compass would be handy in a camera especially if it recorded the
bearing in the Exif........ more use than GPS I would say. Shots
would be easier to duplicate.
