My first move would be to clean the contacts on the lens mount with a clean dry tissue.

SRS have been very good when I've had problems with my K-7. Phone them up and ask to speak with Chris direct as he might be able to sort something out for you.

I've tried cleaning the contacts and it does seem better, I can't test properly indoors though so I'll try it out tomorrow. My first move would be to clean the contacts on the lens mount with a clean dry tissue.
Thanks for advise.

I cant see what point there is in returning the camera to SRS, they will forward it to Johnsons, Pentax's agent, on your behalf.
It would be quicker just to do it yourself.

I've been in touch with SRS and spoke to James, they were very helpful as usual, told me to try cleaning contacts on camera and lenses and if it no better they'll send it to Pentax and loan me a K7 for my Farne trip,I can't ask for any more than that.

I cleaned the contacts and took the K7 for a spin today and it seems to be OK, fingers crossed.

SDM and HSM lenses focus very slow and sometimes stick, non-SDM seem OK.
I've tried the SDM/HSM lenses on my GX20 body and they work OK so problem is definitely with SDM/HSM on K7.
I got my K7 from SRS in February so it is still under warranty, has anyone had experiences with SRS's returns policy, I've got a trip to the Farne Islands planned for 6th June so really need the camera for then, is this likely?
