There's a custom option "Auto EV compensation" - can you check what yours is set to? (on page C2)
I'll have a look later and see if I can create the same symptoms.

There's your problem. Just turn it "off". Hi Matt

When you hit a point where you can't get a properly exposed picture, auto EV will "kick in" and override what you want to do. The camera doesn't realize you want to over/under expose your picture voluntarily and "corrects" your "mistake". It just doesn't want you to be "clumsy".

I am using the latest firmware on my K7 although I have had the same problem with all firmware versions.
I have noteiced that when in manual mode i sometimes find that for a given aperture, I do not have full control over the shutter speed. I have shutter speed selected on the front wheel and aperture control on the rear wheel.
When scrolling the shuter wheel, speeds keep cycling over a narrow range, usually the very fast speeds.
I cannot get my head around this.
I did in fact return the camera to SRS and they just just loaded the latest firmware at the time.
Has anybody had this problem who can suggest something?
Thanks
Neil
