Hi all,

Acouple of queries, if I might.

A. How do you remove the Xsync cover? Is it pull out, unscrew, or what. With fingers like Popeye I've so far been defeated.

B. On the opposite side of the prism housing there are 2 small, slightly oval, holes. What are these for?

A. Unscrew - fiddly.

B. Microphone (top) & speaker (side) I believe

Thanks Matt,

I have no immediate need to use Xsync as none of my flash guns are cable operated (I have some old ones that are, but they are high voltage types).

I shall have to make a "twiddling tool", or simply just ignor the function.

Does anyone use this function?

Don't think I've ever used the X-sync...
Especially now that I have a set of Cactus v4 radio triggers. So much more convenient to have no wires to trip over!

I agree as I have an iShoot radio trigger (not the most reliable, sometimes downright irritating)
Also have a hotshoe cable and a cheapo optical flash slave cube so getting the flash away from the body is not usually a problem.

It always bugged me that simple electronic circuits abound for numerous trigger options but the stumbling block (for me at least) was the packaging and getting sync cable connectors to use with the kit once built. Now it's one of programming.

For example Algi posted a link to a German site which has a 15way "multi" trigger, which uses a quite cheap micro controller. But it needs programming -- urrgh

I'm glad you asked the question about the X-sync screw Bernard, I've just unscrewed mine for the first time and I don't want to have to do it again. I'll go down the IR route.
