Best to get in the claim on the new body ... if they question it then you have good reason.
why not just contact pentax and explain.

UPDATE: I tentatively upgraded the new K5 body to 1.11 yesterday and have had no problems at all since, so I clearly was initially given a duff one.
By the way, I used it last night (low light) to shoot a rugby match and it struggled even on single point focus to pick an individual out of the team talk about 3 metres away. I tried to get a shot of the face of the guy furthest away from me framed by the backs of the shoulders of those nearest. Wouldnt have it most of the time, instead giving good clear focus on the shoulders. Not sure if this is the low light auto focusing issue the upgrade is meant to improve, .....or not. Ho hum

Hi all from a newbee.
Just got a new K5 from Jessops with firmware 1.01. Did a shoot out on a night out on Friday and no issues (except maybe focussing). Thought I'd update the firmware especially after reading the low light focusing issue comments.
Latest looks to be v1.11 which I got from http://www.pentax.jp/english/support/digital/k-5_s.html
I had a fully charged battery and followed the instructions. On the rear display I saw UPDATING and phase 1/2 and then phase 2/2, before seeing COMPLETED with the red light flashing.
I switched off, removed the SD card with the update and switched back on.....nothing...no power at all
I have left the battery out for 5 minutes and replaced and still nothing. Tried with and without the SD card, and with and without the firmware file on the card. With and without holding MENU - and all combinations of the above...
Camera is dead.
I cant find on google any similar problems. Any views/comments/actions to take?
Thanks
Bob

maybe if you do try to reclaim cashback, these deals may stop.
just try and regester online your product and see what quoted there.

If the cashback is stopped on the first camera because it has been returned then the buyer is left with nothing. If he puts in a claim for both then he is at least likely to get one payment.
If both are paid then that is a matter for his conscience.
