Standard, normal, nifty-fifty, the original kit lens can all describe the humble 50mm lens. In part one, John Riley starts the 50mm round up with the history and choices of lenses from the film era, which can still be put to good use today.

Have just been outside with my K5 and M100 @ f8 1/240 iso 400.
Used CIF but used the focus ring to fire the shutter instead of moving the camera closer. I think for me it lets me keep the camera steadier, the downside is if you turn the focus ring quickly it can be off by the time shutter fires. Of course if I am not quick enough the Hoverfly moved.
