A few months ago my K30 locked up. It was not possible to switch off or access any functions. The led screen was still lit. The removal and re-insertion of the batterey resolved this. Last weekend I had the same problem but this time removing the battery and re-inserting did not solve it. I tried this three times with different batteries and it still remained dead. Thereafter the camera was left for about an hour and when switched on it worked!!
Has anyone had a similiar problem. I suspect it is just one of those things!!!!

Happened to me last Friday with the K30. I took out the battery, re-inserted it and everything worked normally again.
I've had the K30 almost 2 years and nothing like it has ever happened before.
I just love this little camera with its deceptively high specification and image quality. Since I got the K3 to partner my K5-1 I thought the K30 would be semi-retired.
But now its partnered with the Pentax DA 35mm 2.4 lens that came free with the K3 body from SRS and its a terrific lightweight walk round combo for street photography.
