Seriously considering re investing in a new DSLR, having enjoyed a time with Fuji. The K3 was top of my list however some concerning issues relating to mirror-sickness has made me rethink. Is this scenario on old cameras, fixed by firmware or exaggerated in the media

If it is a new Pentax K3, then one will have no issues. Only the first generation of Pentax K3 were effected, basically the ones which sold in the first six months of release. Unless one would be purchasing from an unreputable source, all of the new ones with mirror issues were sold long ago -or pulled back to the manufacturer.

All of the Pentax K3's since (the ones on the shelf now) simply do not have any issues. I personally own two Pentax K3's that were made after that initial first release. Both have shutter counts well exceeding 100k++ each

My current K3 was a late one (bought during the special cashback offer) and came with firmware 1.18 factory installed. I have had no issues with it 4.400 shots to date. I had the K5 for three years and over 16,000 shots with no issues. I loved them both and have thoroughly enjoyed my photography with them. SRS guarantee for two years as do all Pro dealers. I think most of their used stuff on ebay has 1 year warranty.

Had no problems with mine whatsoever and it is now for sale due to an upgrade.
