My K3 refuses to recognise the new Firmware update which I have down loaded and copied to a card via a card reader. I have repeated the whole process as described on the Ricoh website several times. Has anyone any suggestions, please?

I believe the firmware download is a self extracting .exe file. Have you you extracted the contents of the download or just copied it to your card? I the latter then it won't work....My K3 refuses to recognise the new Firmware update which I have down loaded and copied to a card via a card reader. Updating Procedure
Provide a formatted SD memory card for the update software.
The download file is self-extracting. The following file is extracted.
•Fwdc220b.bin: This is the updated firmware.
Copy the above Firmware file [fwdc220b.bin] to the root directory in the SD card.

The file is k3_101 and is descibed as "...self extactor for Win 32" in Properties. How can I extract the Fwdc220b.bin file?

Just double click on K3_101. .bin will then show in same folder. Copy it to root of your card. ie. alongside DCIM

The file has now, after some hours, decided to convert itself to the bin file and all is now ok!!
