The camera is under a year old, but I have not had it from new so i'm not sure about how warranty works in that case.

Not aK20 I know, but my K200 did that a while back.
It reduced a walk for photography to a duck watch!
I replaced mine and it's stayed put ever since. The shims around the screen were the only bit I struggled with but I visited this site and read their instructions.

As I understand it, normally the warranty agreement is with the original purchaser and is not transferable, but Chris at SRS has under certain circumstances honoured warranties to second owners. Might be worth asking the question.

The original sale was from SRS and I spoke to them today. I have to wait for Chris returning next week for an answer on warranty. I've also spoken to Pentax and the new service company, in both cases they say this fault is unheard of so could offer no advice.

Possibly another daft question, but do you know if this is the original focus screen or if it has been replaced?

I bought a used K20 from the USA and the screen was loose when it arrived, it probably got a knock somewhere during transit, I put it back in and it has been fine since.

You have to push the frame/latch quite fimly, perhaps more firmly than you might expect for it to lock.

When you place the screen on the carrier how do you know if it's located correctley. When I try it seems to "float" on two sprung clips running down the side of the carrier. I wonder if the latch is not engaging because the screen is not in the right place?

Can anyone tell me the difference between LL60 and LL80 focus screens? Both seem to be listed for use in K10/K20
