After taking some more pictures with my k20d i noticed the focus was still out so i set another test up i placed a printed sheet of paper with bold print on and taped it to flat wall i set up my camera on a tripod and using 3 sigma lenses took a picture of the text and to get the sharpest image all 3 lenses had to be reset to -10 on focus adjustment to achive a sharp image i will try my camera out tommorow and if it not right its going back to the shop did pentax put the adjustment option on the camera as they knew something was wrong...?

No. Every camera can have focus issus - not just Pentax.did pentax put the adjustment option on the camera as they knew something was wrong
Ned Bunnell had some interesting things to say about it... the K20D is one of a very few cameras that allows the user to adjust focus. All the rest you send the camera AND lens back to base to be calibrated.

So when you adjust the focus setting are you adjusting the position of the sensor, or the setting of the AF system?
If the latter, then manual focus should always be spot on and would offer a double check as to whether the system or the technique was out.
