Yeah, we know 4GB requires an SDHC card reader.
I think it's a bit pedantic to say a 4GB SDHC card is not an SD card. SDHC is a type of SD.

Class speed should matter, it would not burn out any electronics and neither will a too large card, it simply shouldn't work.

A 4GB "SD" card is SDHC, but I don't see anything wrong with calling them "SD cards", as I'm sure most of us do already.
