K20d - freezing

I have two 4G cards in front of me that say SDHC on them !? and two 2GB cards that say SD only !
I think SD ends at 2GB, NOT 4GB !?
But were u agreeing with me Tim, or disagreeing !? I couldn't decide
The reason I asked the original question is because my Epson R300 printer won't accept anything above 1GB, in it's card slot, it just locks up !!?

Yes it could, so were they made capable of handling larger ones ??
and did this carry on into the K20 ??

I would expect the K10D to work with 8 and 16GB cards as well as 4GB ones.
Hopefully a K10D big-card user will come along later to confirm or correct this. So wait for that!

I'm happily using a 8 GB in my K10D for 1.5 years now
I don't see why a 16 GB would be a problem, it use the same design as all the other SDHC cards.

I had this on my K20D when it was new and it was not card dependent, but it could go for a week without problems or just a few shots. I had to return it to Pentax together with samples of the duff images.Hi, has anyone else experienced the following with a K20d.......

forgot to mention happens only occasionally and randomly.
They eventually discovered the fault was in the main board and replaced it, it has been faultless since.

Would it be fair to say that any electrical item stating for example 4GB SDHC class 4 means that this is the upper limit card that can be "safely" used?.
And...this is true for Mini SDHC as well as 4GB is capacity and class 4 is transfer speed.
Promise to get my head around this soon...honest.

SD up to 4Gb. I'm sitting here now with a 4Gb card in my hand which is SD. Above that SDHC. SDHC now up to 32/64Gb. Soon new format which can go up to 2Tb. I've used 2/4/8/16Gb cards in my K10 and K7 with no problems at all. CHEERS Vic.

If the manufacturer is claiming it to be 4GB and SD then it will be outside the standard and will not be permitted to use the logo.
Similarly, with the 64GB (I presume you mean Bytes and not bits) the standard for SDHC states that it only covers capacities from 4GB to 32GB.
Can you provide an image or link to thoise cards.

So OK I put a small b where a capital B should have been!. The 4GB is from MYMEMORY and shows up on my new little (Canon 95 is) as 3.7? GB when formatted. and OK the present max. for SDHC is 32GB but I've read somewhere that the max for SDHC will be 64GB. Then the format will change and then it will go to 2TB. All I know is I have cards with 4GB SD on them and they work perfectly. I'm not absolutely sure but I believe that one of the small computers (notebooks) already has 64GB solid state HDD. Surely this is the equivalent of a 64GB SDHC? CHEERS Vic.

A 4GB "SD" card is SDHC, but I don't see anything wrong with calling them "SD cards", as I'm sure most of us do already.
