I'm off to a fireworks event in a couple of weeks & am looking for a remote release for my new camera. I'm new to the whole Planet Pentax and haven't found one that states compatible with the K200 yet....ive seen lists including k100 and i assume these will be ok?

You assume correctly - the remotes available pre-date the K200D and most retailers don't bother updating their product descriptions for those sort of items.
