Both cameras have a 2.7" lcd screen. The body differences are cosmetic and there are some differences in the menu system.

I think most people would agree that therer are hardly any functional differences and no performance differences at all.

I agree with benjikan in a way about keeping the K10, though I eBayed my GX10 and got £199 for it.
Since I only paid £299 for the new GX20, I felt in my case the new camera was almost paid for.

Ben, I have decided to keep the K10 as a spare body. Might graft it to a `scope. I bought a K20, very nice piece of kit the focus is so much sharper than the K10.

Lemmy, you got a good deal with the GX20, I`m sure you did the right thing too.

I sometimes imagine I'd kept all my old equipment and what fun it would be to play with it.

The Canon rangefinder with the underlever film wind, the old VN plate camera I trained with, the Nikon F with motor drive and 21mm 'riot' lens where you had to lock the mirror up and use a Leitz finder, the Pentax Spotmatic with 35mm f2 lens.

And the beautiful Hasselblad stuff, especially the 150mm Sonnar. All gone and where did the money go?

I wonder if I'll ever feel any nostalgia over my digital stuff?

Apart from the different name are there any worthwile differences between the Pentax and Samsung bodies? I had thought of trading up by exchanging my K10 D but the price hike of the K20 D has ended that idea. The part exchange on the K10 makes me want to keep it.

I would keep the K10D, as the output at anything below 800 iso is very good. My philosophy is that selling digital camera's in their 2nd generation is akin to throwing them in the waste paper basket. Better to keep it or give it to someone as a gift.

Keep it as a back up and get the K20D.
If anyone wants to give me a K10D as a gift - It will be very welcome and loved!

Cheers MZ

I bought a GX-20 and kit lens today from Dixons Heathrow. At £305 it is now a brilliant 'entry level' kit to teach my daughter photography and use my old lenses - works out cheaper than a Km

I wonder if this would affect the second hand - or even new - value of Pentax models?

i doubt it as there are not many left, dixons told me i can only buy 1 at that price, and the reason these so cheap is because dsg retail are not selling samsung dlsr any more.
