K110D problem...

Hi all, thanks for looking.

I have been having the following problem with my K110D any insight is appreciated:

When the pop-up flash is up, the camera will not respond. Once it is focussed, the shutter will not open and the flash does not fire.

When the flash is down the camera performs fine. This is the case in all of the modes from Auto-Manual. I have tried a fresh set of batteries with no luck.

Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with my DS just after I bought it 2 years ago. It worked in all situations but when trying to take a shot with the pop-up flash it wouldn't trigger. It would work with an external flash unit. Do you have a flas unit you can mount on the hot-shoe? I took it back to Pentax who fixed it. Just before Christmas is a bummer of a time to get a problem like this.
