K10D with AF360 and AF500

Hi All

I'm in need of some more mobile flash power, another AF360 or AF540 would be the obviouse choice to add to my current 2x AF360's. I'm baulking a bit at the cost of a AF540 (the Samsung equivelant would be cheaper but trying to find one is a major problem) although I would like the extra power.

Question, has anybody any experience/tested controlling AF500FTZ's from a K10D mounted AF360. I realise that P-TTL wouldn't work but would the AF360 in manual mode sync with the AF500 set to manual mode dumb flash.
Cheers
Brian.
LBA is good for you, a Lens a day helps you work, rest and play.

set them both to "A" mode. or manual.
Works for me.
on my ds2 I, put the 500 on camera and the 360 to A or M.... for faster set up..
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

I have an AF240 (not directly helpful I know but bear with me)

I thought since it has no PTTL and no A setting, it would be close to useless on a K10D, but after trying it the other day I am very pleasantly surprised. M mode is a lot easier to handle than I expected.
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help

With the AF500FTZ on the camera, set the Slave mode on the AF360FGZ to 2 (dumb slave). It works fine either in A or manual.
