K10D jpegs

The pentax K10D produces excellent JPEGs which are not over-sharpened in camera. This is not the same as not being sharp. All DSLRs by nature start with a fairly soft-looking image but how much in-camera processing takes place modifies this.
It is far better to do the sharpening in Photoshop, using Unsharp Mask as the final step in the preparation of the image for print.
There will be some photographers who want a print-ready image straight from the camera, although they will be missing much of the potential of digital by doing this. However, the sharpening in-camera can be increased to taste.
It's not a problem at all.

You are really lucky guy!
Yesterday I made some tests for another person and for another reason. The test results are not very good because I used AWB but may be they will be ok for your purposes. Parameters: K10D, DA 18-55mm, ISO200, f11, Auto White Balance, JPEG+RAW, SR off. All these images are JPEG from camera but also I have RAW files. Crops was made from camera JPEG by Microsoft Photo Editor and saved as jpeg 80%.

After a few years away (still in MF mode) I am planning a return to the Pentax fold with the K10D. I love it's ergonomics and it think it will meet my needs for many years.
I'll mostly shoot RAW but would like to use high quality jpegs too from time to time. Some reviews have indicated that jpegs from the K10D are not as sharp as they could be, and I wondered whether any of you could tell me how much of a problem this is in real life.
Any help would be much appreciated. Regards Paul
