K10D Compatible Lenses

When I sold my Super-A, I made the stupid mistake of selling along with it, a set of zoom lenses, auto extension tubes and a 2x tele-converter. I had the idea at the time that if it wasn't auto-focus then it was no longer of any use.

I regret that now and am quite keen to extend my range of lenses.

The problem I have is not knowing what is compatible with the K10D. I know that anything K, KA or KAF compatible should work but I get the impression from stuff I've read that other lenses are also compatible.

So the question is, how do I identify lenses and other optical kit that will work with my cameras?

Thanks for any info.

Almost all Pentax lenses, screw fit or bayonet fit, are compatible.

The screw thread (with Adapter K), K series and M series lenses have no A setting on the aperture rings so are used in stop down mode, having activated the appropriate custom function that enables use of the aperture ring.

The A series manual focus lenses will work perfectly, although obviously with manual focus only.

The autofocus lenses are all fine in every respect.

That leaves you with a lot of lenses to choose from. Check out the various previous threads in the lenses section.
Best regards, John

avoid richoh (rikenon) lenses. A quick search through these forums on "lens stuck" will explain why.
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

I have seen a thread on Russian Penta-Club where were discussed compatibility with Nikon lenses.
Объективы Никон на тушке Пентакс, Миф или реальность?
I see it's possible to use one with Pentax body (in kinda emergency case) but not safely (the lenses cannot be locked but stuck enough). There are two variants: direct connection and through an adapter.
