Hi, would you reconsider sending the lens abroad? How bad is the dust inside the sigma?

John - possibly, depending on your location etc. Postage I think would be a bit more than to the UK, so I would probably say £165 plus postage to your location by a tracked method.
Dust isnt bad at all - just looked at the flickr photos and nothing shows on those (these were SOOC RAW to Tiff and then uploaded to flickr). There are 3 or 4 specks which have got in under the front. They have had no noticeable effect on my images - for example http://www.flickr.com/photos/brookys69/sets/72157623054664967/ was shot with them, as was most of the recent stuff before the K10D set on my flickr stream. My guess is that if you started shooting at very small apetures f16 and smaller then you might begin to see traces of it on the images (but would also be seeing specks of dust on the sensor too). Certainly nothing some cloning in photoshop couldnt easily sort out.
That is my honest opinion - I could try and get some pictures where you could see the dust if you like - let me k now how serious you are regfarding buying. Unfortunately I now dont have a pentax body to test it on regarding my f16 theory.
As a lens I liked it - wasnt the sharpest, but then I used my 50mm or 135mm for that sort of stuff, but as a day to day lens it was great - nice feel to it and good images and a decent amount of pull. Considering its nikon mount cousin as a general walkabout lens for the new body

Sigma 17-70 sold pending payment
Still left:
DBG2 grip (for K10D) + battery £70 posted
Sigma 100-300mm lens - make me a sensible offer - would prefer to sell to a good home cheaply rather than have it languishing (that would make me sad)

Pentax K10D body and D-BG2 grip
(approx 10500 shots taken on this since purchase in Aug 2008 from Calumet)
Body is clean, with screen protector since new (taken off for photos, new sheet supplied)
Grip is in good condition - a couple of small minor scratches on bottom which I guess will have been caused by shooting from low down (however these are pretty much unnoticeable - I only spotted them on close examination to write this ad).
both in original boxes with all documentation, charger, cables (unused) that came with them.
3 batteries: 2 genuine Pentax batteries (1 boxed, 1 supplied with camera)+ 1 after market battery (from 7dayshop).
I will also throw in 2x 2GB San Disk SD cards to sweeten the deal.
Picture I have shot with this:

Was originally on for £320 plus £15 postage, but would accept £320 posted.
Willing to split into body (£245 posted) and grip (75 posted inc a battery).
Sigma 17-70 f.28 (boxed; bought Dec 2007) - nice lens. Missing the petal lens hood, and a little dust, but nothing that shows up unless you shoot at f16 or above. Nice walk around zoom and good alternative to pentax kit lens. Excellent landscape lens.

Friend of mice sold one here recently for £180 (dantum), but due to missing lens hood I will ask £170 inc postage
Sigma 100-300mm f4.5-6.7 zoom lens - unboxed, not had much use in the years I have had it, as I tend to shoot portraits. Clean and tidy, no dust, no creep. Nice images from it though and fantastic reach on 1.5x sensor crop. £70 posted
