This is good news as I want to save up for one for my partner. All I need is to get some more lenses first though, otherwise we'll be sharing two which is a bad idea.

I didn't have any SLR stuff - so for me I got the Samsung GX-10 off Amazon with the twin lens kit for £599 - and the cashback means you get a lot of camera for £500
Very much an amateur.

Just ordered my K10D body from Chris, it should arrive tomorrow. What an absolute bargain at £399.

Thanks Chris - I have to get the OH on side first I think. He always sees better destinations for spare money than cameras - like guitars .

I noticed last night that the K10D at SRS has gone back up to £435....
Do you think they made a boo boo? I'm glad that I got mine last week
Now do you think he'd drop the price of the Sigma 17-70, Bristol cameras are doing it for £215 (when it's in stock).
Thanks Chris

Park Cameras have put the price up too. I'm glad, the £399 tag was too tempting. I can ignore the new price more easily.

I must admit, I was thinking about a second body at £399. The urge has left me now, a little. I expect those folk trying to sell their K10Ds on eBay will be a bit happier though.Park Cameras have put the price up too. I'm glad, the £399 tag was too tempting. I can ignore the new price more easily.
The thing about a lens, especially a MF one, is that if it's Ok on delivery it's very likely to stay that way. Failures, although they happen, are rare, or so I imagine.
Whereas with all the electronics, switches and shutter-related moving parts in the body itself, I feel a lot more inclined to have a warranty, even though failures in the body aren't exactly common.
This is just a gut feel, of course - not based on any evidence (in fact, the only photo equipment failure I've ever had has been a lens, not a body).
