I'd say that it's entirely possible that pentax has been reading our posts here.
Well, If I was to produce something for a market, I would defenetly pop in on a forum that was discussing the stuff I was selling. Talk about feedback from the public...And no costs involved.

"His and Hers" matching K10Ds have been duly ordered. We weakened so easily....

I don't get it Don. I don't see mention of any K10 on the rebate form but I do see fine print of valid in USA only. Too bad because I would have gone for a DA 16-45mm for $100 off.

Too bad about the usa only issue...I didn't read the fine print, just the rebate part.
There's no connecting the dots on my thoughts.

I'm happy about the d10.

i saw a rebate offer online.

I posted both items at the same time...other than that no real connection

A tip for all.

When you see rebate offers, make sure they're valid for your country. I almost spent a thousand bucks because the rebate pushed the price into my range. Luckily for me, and I mean really luckily, I noticed the rebate was only valid for the US.

Oh well...

Don - so sad it was only you reading like I normally do. I REALLY wanted you to tell me you posted the wrong link and then pointed me to the correct Canadian rebate. What a deal it would have been to get a DA16-45mm for under $300!! Now you got me looking hahaha.

Anyway, whoo hoo for your K10D (and boo hoo for me)

Hi.

A local camera shop had a digital camera day this past Saturday at West Edmonton Mall with reps from a number of camera and lense makers (I only stopped at the Pentax table though...haha ) I got a chance to play with a preproduction K10d for a short while. I really liked the size and feel of the camera, even with the grip on. I have wide hands but stubby "Homer Simpson" fingers, but all the buttons and dials seemed pretty easy to reach. The viewfinder was bright and clear, the lcd screen very nice...the whole thing seemed to be solidly built. I took a few shots with and without shake reduction using a D-FA 100mm F2.8 Macro. To me the shake reduction worked quite well.

Sorry if my little "mini-preview" is not very exciting or detailed. I've been reading all the specs on the internet and coming to this forum to find out whatever little snippets I could (I love this place) to help decide if this is when I finally make the jump to digital, but getting to actually hold one in my hand has convinced me to go for it. Unless something bad pops up in reviews, as someone mentioned earlier, I'm getting one.

Kevin
