K10D & AF-360F

Decided to get the flash out and have a play but notice the manual says that the flash confirmation should blink when the correct settings are decided in camera but mine does not.
They seem to be communicating fine with regard to zoom and distance (having read the sticky about distance and iso/ap).

Thought it may be the lens but seems not as I put the kit one on just to make sure.
