Hi Stefan, I wouldn't mind a km at all, but I think it would probably be too much for me at the moment, the a100 I saw was £150 with a good warranty, which is much more in line with my budget, but, as I say, I really wanted to stick with pentax. Oh well keep looking

Photokina is coming as you can see Canon, Nikon and Sony have announced new cameras and there are some rumours about Pentax, with some luck those rumours are true and you might see more second hands appear on the net.

As regards any Pentax owner having battery problems,ONLY ENERGISER LITHIUM batteries should be used,OR high output rechargeables, nothing else is up to it.
I bought a used K100D Super off Ebay, tried to get it to work with AAs from my Fuji Superzoom HS20,but the battery warning light kept coming on after 15-20 minutes,so I thought it was faulty,as the batteries still had plenty of poWer in them for my HS20,and so I got a refund.
I then bought a Pentax K-X,a much better camera, but no batteries came with it,and I had the same problems yet again!
I THOUGHT THIS TIME SURELY IT CAN'T BE THE CAMERA(AGAIN!)and called into Jessops for advice.
I was told that the reason my batteries were fine in my Fuji, but not in the Pentaxes, was because the HS20 had the much smaller sensor of a compact camera, needing much less power on startup, compared to the big sensor, and more complex electronics of a DSLR,like the Pentax.
So only Lithium,or high output rechargeables will do the job.
Since fitting the Energiser Lithiums my KX has been fine, and still showing as fully charged after 200 photoes!
So be warned!
The right batteries are ESSENTIAL to your Pentax!!!

As regards cameras, the KX is a cracking camera, better than comparable Pentaxes and Canons!

It has the same sensor as the K10D and the K200D and it's still considered as one as the best low ISO sensor from Pentax by some users here.
The only thing it doesn't have is weather sealing, no top LCD and it's missing focus point notification in the viewfinder but for the rest there is nothing negative to say about it compared to the rest.
