K100d and SDHC cards

I've started using RAW and thought I'd get some bigger capacity cards. But the 8GB HC ones don't work. so I downloaded the firmware update to my PC, but in the instructions it says you need an 8GB SD card formatted in the camera, but you can't get this size in just SD they are all SDHC.

Am I fought in a catch 22 or have I missed something obvious?

You need just the plain old SD card a 1 gig or 2 gig will be fine, I think Pentax say you need an 8mb card for firmware...

cabstar is correct you need just 8MB, to install the update, not as you say 8GB
