Sometimes later versions of firmware introduce options that weren't there originally.
Check that you are on version 1.3.

The manual won't cover it because (as George says) the feature wasn't in the original version of the firmware and the manual wasn't updated to include it.
Anyway, to answer your question, when you set the built in flash to "Master" it will contribute to the scene along with the slave flash. When you set it to "Commander" it will trigger the slave flash but not make any contribution itself (well, apart from a tiny amount of residual light that's used to do the triggering - nothing that should show up though as a rule).

[quote:a3473cea61]Am I right that the wireless is through the pop-up flash rather than IR?
Matt[/quote]My K10 doesn't have this option ! It does however have this one "Flash in Wireless Mode", which is not shown in the user manual !! This allows the internal flash to fire in Wireless Mode (master or slave), something the manual says you can't do !
I'm confused ! clarification required
