K1 focus problem

I was trying the new 15-30 and I had a problem. It autofocussed fine with any near objects but when trying to focus on anything further away, the focus ran the the closest focus and stopped. Pressing the shutter release resulted in a faint click but nothing else. Initially I thought it might be a faulty lens. However, I am getting the same problem with the 24-70, fat fifty and a screwdrive lens I have with me. So I can only surmise it is a camera problem.

Initially tried setting everything to "factory" but no change. It does seem to get better if I set it to 9 point focus and better still to single point. Camera has been fine up to now. Any suggestions or does it look like a repair job? Almost wish now I had the K1ii conversion done.

How does live view affect focusing? Maybe there's some lint or dust on the AF module under the mirror. You can use a rocket blower to dislodge small bits.

It appears clean. It's ok in single point and 9 point AF. Only doing it in 33 point. Almost as if it can't decide which one to use. Use an object in 9 point and it focusses fine. Use exactly the same view in 33 and focus goes to the closest point and stops.

It seems weird as it copes with objects close (up to 10 meters or so depending on lens)

Very odd. With 33 points it should be able to make a majority decision. I only use 9 point or single point so never come across this behaviour.

It's only just started and if anything even in 9 point it seems slower.
