Hi guys,
Not sure if this should have gone in the lenses discussion forum but I am posting here because it has to do with the K1.
So I bought my K1 the other day and after reading the discussion here, decided to mod my lens as well. I did this a short while ago.
To be honest, it was pretty straight forward, taking me less than half an hour from start to finish. The SDM works fine and below are shots of before and after - the first ones at 60mm and 250mm (camera set at FF) before the modification and the next two after. I think the result are pretty good. There is a degree of vignetting at 250mm but not as bad as the before.

Thanks for the update Naim, going to be doing the same thing myself soon. Have found out that the inner tube is available to buy from Johnsons for less than £25 delivered, so we're going to mod that in my Uncle's lathe so I can put the original back in should I need to.

Were these shot wide open? If so does the vignetting at 250 disappear at F8 or F11?

I think it was at f5.6 although am not entirely sure. To be honest, I didn't think of shooting at different apertures. I am away for a couple of days but will check when I get home and post.

Actually I've just checked the images on my camera. The aperture is f5.6.
