Did you get that with the camera or is it a diy accessory?

Thanks Barry. Mine is second hand. I thought it would be a good light weight camera coupled the 18-135. I was on the moors recording the boundary stones and found myself guessing what the photo was going to be.
Looking at the screen in the house the viewing is ok. Perhaps it is best used as an indoor camera. Other mirrorless cameras I have seen seem to have a better screen to use as a viewfinder.

I've tried more than one option for a compact carry around, including the Q and MX1, but could not manage without the viewfinder. I ended up with the Fujifilm X20.

I meant that it applies to other makes. I saw a review that said the K01 had one of the best screens only having problems in very bright conditions.

Just to be sure, have you tried adjusting the brightness of the monitor? - Page 192 in the manual, settings are from -7 to +7. (Set-up menu 1, LCD display settings.)

I like my K-01, but it's kept for indoor use only nowadays. It's great with old MF lenses, due to the focus peaking and it has really good image quality. I too find it a pain outdoors, no competition for my K-5iis or my K-3, or even my K-x for that matter.

Yes it is unfortunate I was looking for a second camera to go with the K3ii. I am going to have play with it again and possibly think of a different second camera for outside
