Nope, neither the k-m or k-x, however you can get wireless and cheap ones work very well too.

Glover, that info may be a deal saver. I appreciate with cameras as this price point that something has to be sacrificed. I like to shoot landscapes during the 'golden hours' so a tripod and some sort of remote release is essential.

P.S Just read all the replies in that linked thread and see the K-x can only be triggered from the front ? Oh dear ! I would so have liked to join the Pentax owners club but I am now veering towards the Nikon D5000.

No reason not to just hold your hand to te front or side and use a wireless remote.

There is an easily-set 2 or 12 second delay option with the remote on the Kx.
So you can set the camera up on the tripod, aim the remote at the front (its quite a wide range I've found), then retreat to a safe distance behind.

The other advantage of using the two second delay is that the mirror "pops up" * and minor shake from that can settle before the shutter is activated.
When using a tripod and remote release it is, for me, normal practice.
It does on the *istD and K20D and I would assume te K-x is the same.

On the tripod I always use the 2 sec mirror up feature. It might not always help but it certainly won't ever harm!

How do members use this remote to fire multiple exposures for hdr etc how about taking multiple shots for stitched panoramas, it is less than ideal to be dodging back and forth to use this remote ? I think no wired remote facility is a big omission for this camera (for any camera) Of course I am aware of MLU but it does not help in the instances I have quoted.
So I am left with only the option of purchasing this camera and then buying the remote to see how suitable it is. Not exactly ideal is it ?

Set the camera to Bracket 3 exposures at 1/3, 1/2 EV steps - with an offset if needed and one press will take all 3 images.

While I agree that a wired remote is ideal, I don't follow Edradour's arguments fully. "Dodging back and forth" must be an exagguration, I would think that stretching one's hand slightly in front of the camera would do it.
As for multiple shots for stitched panoramas, I wouldn't consider a remote necessary at all. The exposure time would normally be short enough to use the normal shutter release.
If the remote control is essential, maybe a K100/200/20D is the answer

Multiple exposures - there is a setting which will do this with one press of the shutter release button (on camera or remote). No "dodging" required.robbie_d said

Quite how putting your hand in front of the camera (body not lens) or standing out of frame to the side of the camera to fire the remote is such an issue I don't know. Nothing you've mentioned so far illustrates it.
EDIT: I use my K-m with the wireless remote frequently both on and off tripod.
