It could well be dirt on a contact or a slightly bent sprung contact.
Repairable - yes. By a local dealer/shop - probably not.

I have a 2nd hand Pentax K-X with 18-55mm lens. I have noticed that in the past 3 months or so my Mode dial when switched to various modes ie Manual or Macro it will show the Mode either prior to it or after it. I can only get the Mode to work properly when I slowly put the dial in between modes. One slight touch on the dial and it will then click into place but on the wrong mode, Normally "No Flash" mode!!
Does anyone know if I can get this fixed either myself or at a shop??
