K-x kit lenses

I am looking to get a new dslr set up and wonder how good the 18-55 and 55-300 are. I used to have a K200D with the 18-55 Mk 11 which was pretty good,but I am wondering how these new lenses compare,would value the forums views.

From what I know the K-X kit lenses are optically the same as the 18-55 MK11 and the DA 55-300mm, the dfferences being that they both have a plastic lens mount, no quick shift focusing and no lens hoods...but you can the Pentax ones from SRS anyway
