yes. common enough.
search ricehigh's webblog or here... I dealt with mine DIY style with no adverse effects yet (cannot say for sure using wd-40 is a good long term fix, too soon to tell if anything bad will happen) or you could try warrenty exchange/repair...

Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Thanks for that. It wasn't too bad at first so I assumed it was me. but it's got worse recently. I'm sending it in under the warranty.
Thanks again

I've noticed something similar recently with my K-r, although I've only noticed the setting change by far more than it should given the amount of turn applied to the wheel. Never the setting moving in the wrong direction altogether (yet).
It also only seems to happen when I apply a lot of force (eg, when I want to move from f2 to f5.6), never when I turn it gently with the intention of only applying a small change (eg f2 - f2.2).

on ricehigh's blog a user identified the cause as an electrically conductive grease that works it's way into the scroll wheel switches electrical contacts... they had a pull apart photo series and a DIY repair, which I simply ignored and used wd-40 (cannot recommend you try wd yet, mine hasn't been "fixed" for very long so try at your own risk). but if your camera is very new try exchange or warrenty at the store you bought from...

you will also notice the fault as you try to magnify or shrink your images on playback.
sometimes in the palyback mode if the wheel is touch the camera will revert to capture mode.
Mine is goaing away for repair next week.
