That's clever! How did you do that Carly?

Are you saying that the bayonet on your 18-55DAL is metal? Mine's plastic

Hi Andrew,

18-55mm DA mount is metal (Kit Lens for K100D/K10D)
18-55mm DA II mount is metal (Kit Lens for K200D/K20D)
18-55mm DA L mount is plastic (Kit Lens for K-m)

Hope this clears your doubts.

Cheers.

Thanks Felix, I thought I was missing something with my kit lens! The 50-200 DA I also got with my K-m package is metal but I never use it.
Andrew.

Just a little heads up
My daughter is over the moon with her K-m, I think she managed to rack up 400+ shots over the weekend, some of them pretty good
Thanks to all for the advice / opinions on this great little D-SLR

Hi Andrew,
I've got two of these lenses, one is 18-55mm DA and the one that came with the camera is the DA-l version which is lighter but both have a metal bayonet fitting.
I'm wondering if the version od lens you have is their latest?

Regards,
Carl

As I understand it only the 'L' for lightweight lenses versions have a plastic bayonet fitting.

Greytop - yeah dead easy to rack up 400 shots - bung it on continuous shooting - you wouldn't believe how many exactly the same pics I have of Blickling Hall..........

Glad she likes it, I find as a newbie pretty easy to use, but can do some of the "clever" stuff as well........

Trouble is, got into the habit of flicking through fleabay, and trying to persuade myslef that as have a 28-55 and 55-200, I really don;t need a 70-300, but hey those golf clubs sold and the moneys in paypal...........

He he, yes but her K-m wasn't on continuous

Yes you are right it is easy to use but with more advanced features if you want them, a great little camera.

Photography kit is really addictive, watch out you seem to be developing a mild case of 'LBA'
