oh wow... i thought that was a shot at ISO800
The colours look slightly dull though but the noise is awesome.

With the K-7 I would normally try to keep to ISO 400 or less – I was expecting to be able to shoot at 800 or 1600 with the K-5 it looks like that isn’t going to be a problem.
Unfortunately it was a very gloomy/overcast day and I would have expected to do a little tweaking in Photoshop to improve the colour saturation anyway.

Played with your DNG and the white balance is slightly off (it needs a tiny bit more blue, it's too yellowish now) if corrected the colours look more vibrant, try it
I'm really liking what i see.

Sorry – I didn’t think to look in the General Chat, I agree it would be best for the Mods to combine them wherever they think is most appropriate.

Thanks for posting Dave. Excellent noise ( or lack of it ) at 3200.
What's 6400 and 12800 like?

The weather was very poor today so not much opportunity for shooting, but I have checked out all the functions on the camera and everything is working as expected.
I’m impressed with the high ISO performance (main reason for the upgrade from the K-7) and as expected the focusing appears to be better than the K-7 although it’s a bit early to get a good feel for how much better.
It looks like ISO 3200 will give very acceptable results:-

Original DNG (around 26MB) link
Photoshop CS4 and Bridge CS4 will not open the new PEF files but have no problem with the DNGs.
