Never stopped raining since I bought it David, forecast for the weekend looks promising, however just discovered my wife has filled her diesel car with Petrol, weekend now other wise filled. Lucky White Heather.

The AA have a service that will come and drain the fuel out and sort it for you.

I did this to my Saab 9-3 last year. There is a company called Fuel Doctor 0845 873 5508, they will come to you and drain the tank completely, then they re-cycle the fuel drained out. Whatever you do don't try to drive the car as you will most likely ruin all the seals and may actually ruin the engine. My car was fine afterwards, but I had realised straight away and didn't even start the engine.

As an ex manufacturer dealership technician I can tell you that petrol in a diesel car will not harm it all that much as long as you don't travel many miles, which wouldn't be likely as the noise the engine made would make you stop any how and the car will most likely not run on a high percentage of petrol to diesel ratio. As David said above the fuel just needs removing from the tank, many garages will try and tell you the tank needs to be taken off, cleaned out and all the fuel lines lines blown out, don't believe them unless your car is a highly tuned ferrari or lambourghini this is bunkum.

Truck drivers regularly put a gallon of petrol in the tank to stop the diesel from freezing up on cold days.

Unfortunately the ratio of petrol was high, damaged 2 injectors, however tank drained,new fuel new filter,fuel additive 2 new injectors(being in the trade has some advantages) back running.
Now comes the sneaky part,she is eversosorry, dya think I should take the opportunity to ask for a K3 from Santa ? Suggestions welcome

Simply go out and buy one - take it out of the bag and declare " oh no - I don't know how that happened - meant to fill the bag with Christmas goodies for you but must have accidentally filled it with a new camera instead - oops silly me"
