Just had an idea

What I need is a shooting stick, no not that sort of shooting, our sort of shooting. A seat combined with a tripod would be ideal and if it could also be used to aid walking even better.

As someone who often uses her Monopod as a walking stick a tri with a seat would be at the top of my to buy list, and if you could actually sit whilst taking a shot so much the better.

Once found myself, in Sicily, being ushered out of the queue for the Ladies loo and the disabled toilet being unlocked for me because I was leaning on my Monopod a bit heavy, so in case the tripod does not work so well as a queue jumping tool may be a built in commode as well, no, being silly but a photographers shooting stick would be great, or does one exist already? If so directions please.

I use the Trailwise Photo Shoot which is the usual sort of extending walkers' stick, but when the top is unscrewed it reveals a tripod screw. This can be used as-is or a ball and socket head could be attached.

I can see the advantage and I like your thought process, but for this to work the seat needs to be very solidly fixed to the tripod. The tripod would need to be balanced differently, and would inevetably end up being much heavier to both provide a secure seat and prevent wobble.

I think the weight would be the biggest problem, it would never get any use.

Now a better idea is a seat attachment for the monopod ! It would not need to be as sturdy as the tripod mounted design, as wobble would not be an issue. You would just have to remember to keep both in your tripod bag when you go out shooting

This is a cool idea! I wonder if anyone has patented that? I'd buy one.
