Hi all,

Great news i've just brought another K10D with 18-55mm lens

I got it brand new and still sealed in the box from Jessops for £598

They are selling it for £699 but because Jacobs have it advertsied at £599 they offer a price match service.

Anyone interested in buying a K10 this seems to be a good deal. I have not found it cheaper on the net yet. Plus its a local shop so if things go wrong i dont have to post it to an unknown online company.

hi,Pete.

You lucky sod, I just got mine on Wednesday for £580 (body only). Not Jessops or Jacobs tho, & I thoght I got a bargain. S***t.
Still trying to get to grips with it, but looks great so far.
Managed to sort out Tungsten white balance, I used manual WB & shot though a foldable white reflector (got free with What Digital Camera mag), result is perfect.
Still got a lot to learn tho, dont even know what program line means.

Just wondering if I set the camera to bright mode, does it effect the Raw output?

All the best.

Hi,again.

Got mine from local shop, think ill have a hard time getting refund if there`s nothing wrong with the camera & I dont need the kit lens as have Sigma 17-70mm & Tamron 70-300mm.

Ah well I suppose I`ll have to grin an bear it, Lol.

Show them the price you could have had, tell them you're happy to continue doing business with them, and guilt them into a good discount (gift certificate?) on your next purchase.....there's always a next purchase....
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Hi Don,

Your suggestion might work in Canada but not in the UK, already had £20 discount as it was a 3 week old display model, which never had a SD card tried in it (but had 11 shutter activations registered).

Still happy with it tho, tried 30 sec ISO 1600 exposure & NR off, with lense cap on in manual mode. Only had 1 hot pixel at bottom of right hand side, had to make it full screen to see it on my 19" monitor. Tried with NR on & got no hot pixels showing at all.

Regards

Eric,

Program line is simply a term used to describe the cameras err.....program line, basically this is just the default settings the camera will use in Program mode, on the K10D this can be adjusted, for instance the program line can be set for depth or speed, if set for speed the camera will try and maintain a high shutter speed above all else, if set for depth then it will try to select the highest aperture, The program line has no effect when the camera is in any other mode such as Av or Tv

Never used it in 12 years mind..... the mode I mean, I still LOVE that camera
