Taken around the same time this morning 13 /6/26 .
I think the old K3 holds its own against the 40 MP S1RII in MHO 🙂
Lens used sigma 17-50 F2.8
Panasonic 24-105 F4

Both sets are excellent images - the Panasonic appears a little more punchy or contrasty over the Pentax with the Pentax showing slightly more subtle colours. There's not much to choose between them, I wouldn't say there is a clear winner - but then again they are all taken by a talented photographer!

What LennyBloke says
Were these straight-out-of-camera JPEGs? If so, some of the difference between the Pe's and Pa's might simply be due to in-camera processing choices made by the Pe and Pa developers. I wonder how close they could be made by adjusting in-camera image processing parameters? Could the Pe imitate a Pa or vice versa?

Sorry Lenny / Lubbyman I should have mentioned they where raw files then post process to my taste I suppose it was just to prove to myself how good the pentax K3 Combo is ,
I mostly use the S1RII for my bird wildlife photography lots of MP for Cropping sometimes landscape it’s also a very good landscape tool .
Considering the K3 combo cost me about £420 and the Panasonic combo £2800 for Landscapes /seascape ETC the 13 year old pentax K 3 is still a great camera

All credit to your post processing skills . I'm still wondering whether the same could have been achieved in-camera by tweaking processing parameters.they where raw files then post process to my taste
The K3 is still serving me well, it didn't suddenly get worse when I bought a K3iii. The K3iii is now what I walk around with, the K3 is fairly permanently attached to an indoor macro rig where there is no benefit from the improvements in AF speed, tracking and other areas that the K3iii brought. But the K3 would still be able to take the landscapes and wildlife photos which it was taking not so long ago if (perish the thought!) the K3iii were to be out of action.
