Welcome back - hopefully the weather was better there than here. In fact I know it was. I'm beginning to lose faith in Piet Paulusma and his promises that it is going to get better!

another thing I have learned, I desperatly need a set of ND and ND grad filters...
When the sky is nice and blue then it isn't all that hard to get a good exposure on both the sky and the landscape but when there is overcast it gets very difficult if not impossible without a ND grad filter.
So that will be the next thing on my list...

Agree - I have just been away (Yorkshire Dales & Lake District) and the ND grads I have just got hold of were very useful as the sky was often overcast. Took quite a few shots of each view all th same trying to get a good histogram!when there is overcast it gets very difficult if not impossible without a ND grad filter.

Don't know how good everything turned out as I have allso taken the time to do a lot of experimenting (full manual mode with the AF360 allso in full manual). I have found out that using manual mode you often get more accurate results then with the TTL metering (no matter if segmented, center weighted or spot metering is used).
I have found that the expodisc does an excellent job as well for metering when you set the camera to spot metering.
