Thanks for the comment DSP and to everyone else who commented on my picture. The scenery of the Yorkshire Dales is indeed great. I should have said in my post that the dominant hill in the background is Penyghent, one of the three famous Yorkshire Peaks, the others being Whernside and Ingleborough.
Penyghent sounds Welsh so I checked it in Wikipedia. Seems it comes from the ancient Cumbrian language which was closely related to Welsh.- This part of the Yorkshire Dales is very close to both the Cumbrian and Lancashire borders.

Yes Neil, the last time we met was about three years ago at the East Lancashire Railway. I'm sure Barrie and perhaps Pete Weber would like to come as well. North Yorks Moors Railway or Keighley and Worth Valley Railway are with reach of all of us.Hi David

Unfortunately we have just missed a steam gala at the KWVR which ran from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th. I say "we", but I took my sister along on Friday and we had a few rides and a walk round. Photography would be aided by taking a walk outside the railway like we did at the East Lancs.
However the KWVR have a week long event in June to celebrate their 50th anniversary with a mix of steam and diesel, though I don't have details to hand.
