Jupiter

Walked outside this evening and Jupiter was shinning bright. I had to get the camera out the car anyway so figured I'd have a go. Didn't have a clue what I was doing TBH, just tried out what I thought might work in manual mode!

First I tried the K-3 with the DA*300mm.

Not enough reach so I tried the Q with adapter.

Still wanted more reach so tried adding the 1.7x teleconvertor, but had to mount it on the k-3 first to get it to focus, then put the q back on the DA*300mm and 1.7x tele combo and the best shot, after some work in Lightroom was this.

That's a superb effort taking into account the equipment used. I'm really impressed.

You maybe able to improve it more by taking a movie instead of single images. Then put the movie into a free piece of software called Registax. It will automatically select the best frames and then stack them into one noise free image with more detail.
So you should end up with something like this (i cheated by using a telescope):
