JJC Remote Control

I thought only the shutter release worked with a dSLR? My JJC remote has 2 buttons but 1 doesn't do anything (think it's for a P&S)?

If it 's the JJC RM-E5 the only one that will work for a Pentax is the Righthand side "S" the "W/T" below is also for pentax but not DSLR or SLR.
All the others are for different makes of cameras.
