Well, at least the website has!

It was taken down for maintenance yesterday evening and is still not back.

Maybe they are preparing for a "Closing Down" sale !!!

No, it's back.

Jessops has no chance of going anywhere. Even if they do shut their shops down the name is worth a lot (and Canon are first in the queue). I think they will ride out the recession but continue to close down shops, then eventually Canon will call in their marker and take over!

(And I can always delete this post if I'm badly wrong)

Not now!

As for the site, still can't locate the Pentax lenses they're listing.

It was there at 16:31 with a different look.

The three Pentax lenses were still there as well. No longer available for home delivery...searched everywhere for a store....referred back as only available for home delivery.....it's obviously a time loop.
Best regards, John

Oh no John!!!

Not a time loop!!!

(Slaps self in face) Sorry. Jessops is definitely still on line, I've just checked.

Shame it's not a time loop, we could have ordered some brand new Pentax MXs from 1976!
Cheers, HG

Now that would be worth inventing a time machine for. I would just love to find an unsold, never opened MX somewhere. Not impossible I guess, but very unlikely.

The store locator still is`nt working, one wonders if they ever check their own website, possibly one of the worst examples of ecommerce i have ever seen.

Try clearing your cache. If that doesn't work it may be a proxy issue.

In Firefox 3.5.2 I now get a light blue page with a white bar at the top - nothing else.

And IE 8.0 reurns a dialog box with:

Errors on this webpage may cause it to work incorrectly
To see this message in future ...

Which I can "accept" and it finally displays the same message as FF

Looks like the Jessops IT boys are as good as the shop staff in most stores!

It's definitely down at the moment, on FF and IE7, I'm expecting a sign in our high street saying

"Code 404, please retry later"

Ya know, for so many people who can't stand Jessops as a shop, there are a heck of a lot of hits to the website from PU users.

After my experience there the other day and almost getting ripped off by a so called reduced item, there's no chance I would buy anything from them, let allone worry about their website.

This is meant to be a laugh by the way. I'm knackered and my usual joveial (ness) has suffered big time
