Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

That's good to hear, any 'youngster' who knows about film is welcome. I hope he's still there and his manager appreciates him.

John - I was actually in the Jessops store in the Trafford Centre about a month ago, and I was'nt really impressed (not with the service though)

I had a chat to the manager when I asked if I could handle a K20D (still have'nt actually) and he explained that they no longer had Pentax equipment in that store - they have the usual Canon and Nikon section, and the Pentax stuff used to occupy the 'other' section alongwith everyone else. He told me that Sony has bought up pretty much all of the 'other' space in the Jessops stores nationwide - so that concurs with what others have mentioned on this thread. I was quite annoyed about that - it's not as if Pentax have a huge range (i'm not suggesting that is a bad thing however!!!) I just feel hugely snubbed by Jessops as a chain.

I notice that the Jessops web site now has a Connon Shop tab.

I thought that they were supposed to be 'independent' of any one supplier. Is this to keep in Big C's good books so the(no doubt massive)debts aren't called in?

As for Sony buying the display case space, when the stores have plenty of space,as our remaining store in Bradford does, couldn't another case be installed for the 'less significant' brands to sit in?
Cheers, HG

Just rang Jessops about my K20D order. Apparently they have stopped trading with Pentax as of today, so will not be fulfilling my order.

When I chased up my Pentax order (of late November) today , Jessops said that they were fed up with Pentax failing to supply to them and that there were discussions in hand whether to stop dealing with Pentax, soon I would be told whether my order was cancelled or when I would get it.

Sounds very fishy? Even if a dealer was stopping dealing with a suppler they would honor existing orders just for the goodwill. Sounds more like they can't pay the bill?

In my "home town" (well one of them) it would mean Jessops closing as they are right next door to a Sony store! I do understand that the Jessops store does sell more Sony cameras than the Sony store though!

Everyone else seems to be able to get the bodies - so there will be a good reason why Jessops cannot!

I have seen their website no longer lists the bodies, just lenses and all of those are on order only - including the 50-200

In Bradford the main supplier for Pentax has become Bradford Camera Exchange.

Odd, as they were mainly selling Samsung kit, but a dealer in this area can only be good for our chosen brand.

BCE also seem to be cutting back on their Canon stock...

This when Jessops are saying they can't get hold of Pentax goods!
