jessops lens offers

Just collected my Pentax FA 50 F1.4 lens from jessops well impressed so far and getting it for £150 made it a real deal. They informed me this lens has been discontinued.

They discontinued it a couple of years ago if I remember correctly.

Then they re released it at double the price.

The 50mm f1.4 must rank as one of the longest lasting discontinued items...and still no trouble selling them it seems.

Perhaps Ricoh has wised up to this. We'll shortly see it on sale again for £700.00.

Mind you, given its quality, why not?

I guess I should avoid stocks and shares

I still really like it though- it is attached to my MZ7 ATM and I have exposed only 2 frames this year - 34 to go.

Oh I don't know try shares in Ricoh. Apparently there making a rather good margin on lenses.

last november was deciding which to buy the FA50 for £320 or the DA55-300 for £280 glad i made the right choise saved my self £180

Heard from a customer at Jessops Richmond that FA 50mm 1.4 will be replaced with a DAL 50mm 1.7 that will cost supposedly cheaper than a 35mm 2.4.

Seriously, I'd like to believe it but man, Pentax sure is missing a cheap fast lens.
