Yes it is.
I had an earlier version for Pentax, but it would only use alkaline batteries not rechargeables as they were too tubby for the gun....

Different cameras have different pin arrays on the shoe mount(dedication).
Most will accept an unbranded flash but for all singing all dancing it has to be dedicated
