Pretty so so by your very high standards but I enjoy viewing them nonetheless, even though the outfit is daft.

I think thats the difference when you have the advantage of the pit and shooting from a static position around 60 metres away

What happened? Was there some restriction for the pit for when Jessie J was performing?

I was shooting the festival for an agency rather than a publication and some of the artists have a strict no agency policy. There are also some artist which require a strict contract signing which may have limitations with regards to times or even rights grabbing, before access to the pit and on these occasions I would rather shoot from the crowd? Jesse J was no agencies so in the crowd it was...
I dont mind shooting from the crowd, however a popular artist tends to draw bigger crowds, so with huge glass, monopod and steps escaping out of the crowd before the set is over is near on impossible. So you are literally stuck there for the whole set. The crowd for jesse j tended to be teenage girls who where very interested in the photography and enjoyed the view from my steps, which tended to be a fair trade for big old me being in there way
